British Athlete of the Week: Jamie WebbJanuary 22, 2019
This week’s British Athlete of the Week goes to Jamie Webb for his performance in the 800m at the Cardiff Met Indoor Grand Prix. Helped out by the pacing of Elliot Slade, Webb managed to run an impressive 1:47.63, finishing 4.7 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. Only 24 other British men have ever run quicker than this indoors!
This results means that he has run just inside the European Indoor Championships Qualifying Standard of 1:48.00 and can now look forward to building upon this form ahead of the event which takes place in Glasgow during the first weekend of March.
Jamie will be competing at Germany’s Indoor Meeting Dortmund next Saturday, hoping to improve upon this time and get closer to his PB of 1:47.33.
